Life Hack . . . Wikipedia describes a life hack (or life hacking), as any trick, shortcut, skill, or novelty method that increases productivity and efficiency, in all walks of life. 

A number of years ago I was volunteering as a Director for a Non-Profit Agency. We were interviewing for a new Executive Director and while interviewing one of the candidates we asked, “what are your salary expectations?” I was surprised by his response when he answered “it doesn’t matter”. My curiosity was peaked so I asked him to explain. He said that as a young man he was hired to lead a non-profit organization and told that one of the perks of the job was that they provided a house for him to live in. He politely declined and said he’d rather buy his own house. After he finished that position he moved on to another community, but he did not sell that house, rather he rented it out and bought another house in his new community. He said he’d done that in each place he’d lived and now owned 10 properties; all generating rent. He said, “... it doesn’t matter what I’m paid, I'm financially independent from the income of my properties.” 

For me, this was a Life Hack ‘aha moment’. It's also a plan I’ve adopted myself. I’ve personally invested in real estate properties. 

I’m passionate about helping others journey towards financial freedom through real estate. I enjoy people and find their life stories fascinating, that's part of what makes Real Estate so interesting for me.
